This Privacy Policy explains how LinkerTube ("LinkerTube," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use our website, mobile applications, and related services (the "Services").

If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use our Services.

A. Information you provide to us

We may collect information you provide directly, such as:

  • •Account information: when you create an account or sign in using email, Google, or Apple, we receive information such as your email address, name, authentication provider, and an account identifier. This information is used for authentication, security, and account management.
  • •User content & learning data: information you choose to submit or generate through the Service, which may include:
    • • YouTube video links you input
    • • Captions/subtitles text you choose to process
    • • Saved words, vocabulary status, notes, review history, and preferences
    • • In-app searches and video or learning activity used to provide your history and progress
  • •Support communications: if you contact us, we collect the contents of your message and related contact information.

B. Information automatically collected

When you use the Services, we may automatically collect limited technical information:

  • •Log data: IP address, device/browser type, pages visited, timestamps, error logs, and similar diagnostic data.
  • •Basic cookies / local storage: we may use essential cookies or local storage for authentication, security, and core functionality.
  • •Identifiers and notifications: account identifiers, device-level push notification tokens, and notification preferences needed to operate signed-in and notification features.
  • •Purchase information: product identifiers, purchase and subscription status, entitlement status, transaction identifiers, and renewal or expiration information. Apple processes payment credentials; we do not receive your full payment card information.
  • •Product interaction and diagnostics: app interactions, video views, feature usage, timestamps, request and error data used to preserve learning progress, operate the Service, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability.

We do not use personal data for advertising measurement or cross-app tracking.

We do not run targeted advertising or retargeting.

C. Sensitive information

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information (e.g., health data, precise geolocation, government IDs).

3) HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use information to:

  • •Provide and operate the Services (e.g., account access, core features, saving your learning progress)
  • •Process captions/text you choose to analyze to provide translations, explanations, word tracking, and review features
  • •Maintain security and prevent abuse (fraud detection, rate limiting, debugging)

  • •Improve the Services (fix bugs, improve reliability and performance)
  • •Process and validate purchases (activate entitlements, restore purchases, and maintain subscription status)

4) AI PROCESSING (DEEPSEEK)

To deliver AI-powered features, we may send certain text you provide (for example, captions/subtitles text or words you request to translate/explain) to a third-party AI service provider:

  • •DeepSeek (AI processing / language model inference)

We only send information reasonably necessary to complete your request. We do not send your Google password (we never have it) and we do not request your browsing history.

We only send the minimum amount of text necessary to complete the AI request. Personal account information such as your email address is not sent to the AI provider.

Important: AI outputs may be generated automatically and could be inaccurate. Please use your judgment.

5) WHEN AND WITH WHOM WE SHARE INFORMATION

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not sell, rent, or use personal data for advertising or marketing purposes.

We may share information in limited situations:

A. Service providers

We may share information with vendors who help us run the Services, such as:

  • •Hosting / infrastructure providers: providers that host our website, API, database, cache, and other production infrastructure.
  • •AI processing providers: such as DeepSeek for AI features.
  • •Email/support tools: if used to communicate with users (only as needed for support).
  • •Payments and subscriptions: Apple App Store and RevenueCat process purchases, validate receipts, restore purchases, and maintain subscription and entitlement status.
  • •Mobile notification infrastructure: Apple Push Notification service and Expo may process device push tokens and delivery information when notifications are enabled.

These providers process information on our behalf and are required to protect it.

B. Legal and safety

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or if we believe disclosure is necessary to:

  • •comply with legal obligations
  • •protect our rights, users, or the public
  • •prevent fraud or security issues

C. Business transfers

If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6) COOKIES AND TRACKING

We use only essential cookies, secure device storage, or local storage needed for authentication, security, preferences, purchases, and core functionality.

We do not use the data collected by LinkerTube for targeted advertising, cross-app tracking, or sharing with data brokers. If that changes, we will update this Policy and, where required, provide additional controls.

7) INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, depending on where our infrastructure, AI processing, payment, subscription, email, and notification service providers operate. We take steps to protect your information consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

12) ACCOUNT & DATA DELETION

If you would like to request deletion of your LinkerTube account or associated data, you may contact us at:

Please include the email address used to sign in to the app.

Upon receiving a valid request, we will delete your account and associated data within 7 days, except where retention is required by law.

13) THIRD-PARTY LINKS (INCLUDING YOUTUBE)

The Services may link to third-party websites or content (e.g., YouTube). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. Please review their privacy policies separately.

14) CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and, if changes are material, we may provide a more prominent notice.
